Expectant father experiences son’s birth from 4000km away via Samsung VR

An Australian father is ‘transported’ 4000 kilometres away to a hospital delivery room where his wife is giving birth to their son, with the dad-to-be experiencing the sights and sounds in 360-degree real-time virtual reality, in a video promoting Samsung’s Gear VR headset.

Jace Larke, an engineer who was called out to a job in remote Queensland town Chinchilla when his baby was due, is able to not only witness the birth but can offer wife Alison support as she goes into labour.

The six-minute a film ends happily with the safe arrival of Steele Larke, the macho-monikered newborn.
